Intoxicated Customer Checklist

As a seller or server, you have been trained to recognize when your customer has had too much to drink. It is your responsibility when you sell and serve alcohol to ensure the safety of your patrons. Overly tipsy people may become aggressive or disruptive. It is important to recognize when a customer has had too much to drink.

Ready to Drink (RTD) Alcoholic Beverages

When serving or consuming an RTD, servers and consumers alike need to understand how widely the alcohol by volume (abv) can range, depending on category and size. RTDs come in numerous can and bottle styles, containing abv ranges from 4% to 20%. Read the label to find out what you are drinking.

Standard Drink Size

Know the standard drink size of what you are drinking.The percentage of pure alcohol by volume (abv) varies within and across beverage types. Glassware can be deceiving. Beware of large glasses that trick your eye into thinking drinks are smaller than they are.
